2008 In Review

Wow! It's been a long time since I have been on here! I had made myself one new year resolution and that was to begin blogging again and already I am failing! I am starting this much later than I had intended but at least I am starting! I have decided that since blogging didn't happen very often last year that I would condense down to one family blog rather than try to keep up individual blogs for each girl. I am going to steal a friends idea and try to do a quick year-in-review so that you all can catch up!

January 2008

We rang in the new year with two-year-old Faith and our precious new addition, Lilly, born just days earlier!

February 2008

Lilly turned 2 months, we had make-up mishaps with Faith and we had to say goodbye to Uncle Timmy as he left for army training in Kentucky for six months.

March 2008

A big mile stone with Lilly, as we caught her first smile on camera!

April 2008

We traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas to witness the marriage of Mark's cousin Jody to Ben Hefner. Faith and Lilly did marvelously on the 8 hour adventure and were a hit in their matching dresses! Annabelle Katherine Burton made her debut in this month, making it #5 for my oldest brother John and his wife Amy.

May 2008

Lilly turned 5 months and has decided to ditch her passy for her thumb! Mark made a week long trip to China for work and had quite the stories to tell on his return

June

My brother Pete was married to Johnna making her sister-in-law #5! It was a beautiful wedding and we were very blessed that they asked Faith to be their flower girl. She made it down the isle with a smile from ear to ear! The picture below was the only close up of the whole night due to the fact that she would not stand still long enough. She was on the dance floor all night long!

July

James and Sherrie were married at the beautiful Powell Gardens in Missouri. It was another gorgeous Burton Family wedding and now I have sister-in-law #6 and a new niece and nephew to boot! That makes a total of 11 grandchildren on the Burton side. We love our growing family!

August

Mark and I celebrated year number six this month! Our marriage has been so blessed over the years and we love were the Lord has us at this time in our lives. We are very much looking forward to many more loved filled years!

September

In late August, our friend Nathan Green was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer of the bile ducts. It is a fast moving cancer, and it does not respond to chemotherapy or radiation treatment. After the terminal diagnosis doctors gave him only 2 months to live.

October

We've made halfway through the football/cheerleading season and things are going great! As you can see I have a set of my very own peewee cheerleaders! They catch everyone's eye each game in their matching cheer uniforms that one of the football moms so graciously loaned us.

Also, we made a very tremendous discovery in this month as we were very surprised to be expecting baby #3! For numerous reasons we decided to wait and tell family and friends until the holiday season came around.

November - Part 1

Me and the girls headed to Tennessee in early November to travel to a national football tournament with our team and cheerleaders. It was a 14 hour trip in a mini van by myself with Faith and Lilly in the back. It was pretty crazy at times but I was lucky enough to have my dad to follow and they stopped every time we stopped. The trip was a very memorable one yet very difficult as I was filling every bit pregnant at this point and no one to confide in! The morning sickness turned in to all day sickness but I managed and we still had a good time!

November - Part 2

Nathan Update: At this point he has made much longer than any expected, especially the doctors. Both he and Christy are very strong in their faith and they allow the Lord to dictate how and when each and every day. Mark and I have both been put on our knees in this situation and we are in awe of the love and devotion that Nathan and Christy share. Their relationship is a wonderful testiment and we respect them both deeply.

Well, Thanksgiving came sooner than expected and was over even faster! We had a great time with both sides of the family and were fortunate enough to be able to have Tim & Kara in from Colorado to share in the holiday.

Faith celebrated birthday number 3 this month as well! I can barely beleive I am a mother of a three-year-old. Were has the time gone? Faith requested a priness theme and that is just what she got!

Cookie making on Thanksgiving with the Burton cousins.

Being silly at the McLelland Thanksgiving.

Faith's princess cake that she helped Mommy make.

Everyone dressed up for the occassion!
